Note: the following is an extract of the Will of Robert Dean written March 19, 1858 and filed May 27, 1858 ..,.to my wife (not named) home farm during her widowhood; and if she remarries she is to have 1/3 thereof... to my wife the Scott farm until my son Thomas Jefferson Dean is 21, then it to be sold and proceeds to go to my daughter Catharine Dean, my sons Thomas Jefferson Dean, John G. Dean, George R. Dean, daughters Elizabeth J. Dean and Mary Matilda Dean...$517.00 each when they become 21 or married... to my wife all my personal property... to my 4 sons, my scholarship which I own in the Greencastle Institution.
