The Dry Goods store was not the same thing as the general store, although in some areas it did function as both. Technically, "dry goods" referred to notions, textiles, clothing, tools and supplies, but not food items. Those were found at either the general mercantile or later the grocer. It is for this reason that I am listing the various merchants separately. Below are the men who specifically listed their occupation as "Dry Goods Merchant". I am certain there were probably others, but when the persons only give their occupation as "merchant", I have no way of knowing which type of goods they carried.
