INDIANA CASUALTIES
GREENCASTLE, Ind. Nov. 22 -- Jacob Thomas today received word from 
the War Department that his son Elbert died in a hospital in France Oct. 2. The 
family has received letters written by the young man after that date and 
have asked the department for further particulars. Thomas was among the 
first national army men to go from Putnam County.
