LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF EPHRAIM GOSS In the name of God Amen. I, Ephraim Goss of the county of Owen and the State of Indiana, in view of approaching death, being of sound mind and memory, make this my last will and testament. FIRST--I will to my dearly beloved wife all my property both real and personal during the period of her natural life provided she remain my widow with the exceptions hereinafter named and if my wife should die, before my daughter Bethsheba shall arrive at the age of eighteen years, my said daughter shall retain the property until that time, with my two sons Frederick and Joseph. SECOND--After my daughter, Bethsheba arrives at the full age of eighteen years, she shall receive the just and full sum of two hundred and twenty dollars, in addition to her share of the estate. THIRD--I will my son, Frederick, One hundred and twenty five acres of land, to commence at the North west corner of the tract of land upon which I now live running thence east to a sugar tree stake on said line thence south so as to contain one hundred and twenty five acres. FOURTH--I will my son, Joseph, one hundred acres of land, to run East on the South side and adjoining Frederick's tract the whole length, thence south so as to contain the said one hundred acres. I will to Joseph also that tract of land embracing my house, spring, and all the buildings, and orchard, with as much land as he may choose, whether twenty five acres or upwards, in any shape he may choose for his own benefit, my wife to hold this tract during life. FIFTH--The said Frederick shall receive the aforesaid one hundred and twenty five acres at seven dollars per acre, and the said Joseph shall receive the aforesaid one hundred acres at seven dollars per acre, and the aforesaid tract including the house and other buildings, spring and orchard I value at two hundred dollars in addition to the seven dollars per acre for the land. And when the residue of my land is valued the above tracts willed to Frederick and Joseph shall be considered in the valuation as belonging to the whole tract and shall be estimated at the above named valuation; and the said Frederick and Joseph shall receive said lands out of their portion of the estate, and pay overplus if any there should be, upon an equal division of the whole property. SIXTH--I will the residue of my property both real and personal to be divided in equal portions to all my heirs. SEVENTH--I appoint my son Joseph and my son in law Phillip Hodges, my Executors to attend to the faithful execution of this my will.
