McKinley Cemetery

This cemetery was the family cemetery of Hiram G. McKinley during the middle 1800's. During the 1960's this cemetery was destroyed by the land owner in order for the land to be mined for shale. Before its destruction, there were 7 stones showing. In the late 1990's the cemetery could no longer be found anywhere. However, through fragments found during the 1970's these 3 stones were pieced together and recorded. Judging from the dates, this could well be the oldest Morgan County cemetery.
