THE DEAD WOMAN-WAS SHE MURDERED? Indianapolis Sentinel; July 24, 1879 Greencastle, Ind, July 23-- Further developments lead to the conclusion that the unknown woman, whose body was found near here yesterday, came to her death by violence. The coroner's examination today developed the fact that one of two disreputable fellows were on the hunt of a woman for base purposes on the day she was last seen by persons in the neighborhood. One of them today piloted the officer to the spot where her clothing was found, which he admitted having seen in his rambles. There were marks of her body being dragged down the hill near where it was found and a tuft of hair pulled from her head near the foot of the hill. The coroner will complete his investigation today and the arrest of one or two suspicious characters may follow. Submitted by Debbie Jennings
