He was the son of Thomas Otis Wood and Mary Etta (Tipton) Wood. He was the second child of a family of nine children all of whom are at home except Irena, who is married and two dying in infancy. Harry calling all his loved ones around his bed told them he had been called and must go, and bade them goodbye, then entered into his last long sleep to await the Lord's coming. Harry was an honest, hard working boy never spending his time in idleness. He always had a smile and a friendly word for everyone, always making friends wherever he went. "LIZZIE" WOOD, 70, FORMER RESIDENT, BURIED MONDAY
Owen County Leader January 9, 1941
Word was received here last week of the death of Mrs. Lycurgus Wood, of
Victor, Colorado. Her husband was at one time sheriff of Owen County and
they lived near Chambersville. Many of the older citizens will remember
Mrs. Wood and be pained to learn of her sudden death. She was killed in a
runaway while on her way to attend the funeral of a friend, being thrown out
of the carriage and injured to such extent that her death followed in a very
short time. She was hurt internally, her left arm was broken and her face
bruised. She was about sixty years old at her death.
