PRIVATE CHESTER M'GUIRE IN MIAMI BEACH HOSPITAL Owen County Leader; January 18, 1945 Pvt. Chester E. McGuire, son of Arthur H. McGuire, RR 1, Spencer, Ind., has been admitted to the AAF Convalescent Hospital, Miami Beach, for treatment and observation. While a patient at this hospital, one of several operated by AAF Personnel Distribution Command, he will be under the care of army physicians and also participate in the physical training and vocational activities of the Convalescent Services Division of the hospital. A veteran of the African and Italian campaigns for which he wears three bronze battle participation stars on his European Theatre ribbon, Pvt. McGuire who spent over 2 1/2 years overseas, enlisted in the Medical Corps on March 29, 1941. A former student of Spencer High School, Pvt. McGuire was employed by Felix A.
