Stephen was transfer from the 71st Indiana
Regiment, Company F to the 6th Indiana Cavalry,
Company F. Stephen died at Mt. Stering, Kentucky while
in service. The Barnes family tranfered his body back
from Kentucky to Owen County for private burial.
