I cannot ascertain exactly just where a toll gate/road may have been within our counties. I am finding that persons in Monroe township of Putnam County as well as Greencastle are claiming the toll gate as their occupation. After making several inquiries I am still left with simply a guess as to the location. Marsha Hankins did write and state that she found of label of "Toll Gate" in the area of the County Farm in Greencastle township.
