EDWIN W. CALLIS

EDWIN W. CALLIS, a veteran editor, died at his home in Martinsville of paralysis Wednesday. He came to Martinsville in 1855 and purchased the Morgan County Gazette, yielding a powerful influence with his paper in the political excitement of the fifties and during the civil war. Mrs. Callis died in 1894, and the surviving children are Mrs. John T. LECKLIDER, Indianapolis; Mr. J. K. SCOTT, Mrs. William E. McCORD, Martinsville; T. O.
