MR. LONG WITH MONEY IN SEARCH OF HAPPY HELPMATE

Bloomington (IN) Telephone, Apr 16, 1912, p. 4.

The Telephone has found what now seems to be a splendid opportunity for some Monroe County lady of good character to make a leap year proposal that will be accepted by a man who claims to have plenty of the world's goods and is of good Christian character and says he is looking for a woman who would make him a good wife. Mr. Long's first wife died 6 months ago, and he has a daughter 7 years old for whom he wants to find a good mother who will give her proper care and help raise her to respectable womanhood. Mr. Long says he owns a good farm of 177 acres that is 3 1/2 miles east of Coal City, everything is improved and paid for. He also has money out on interest, owns considerable stock and is one of the directors of the new Patricksburg bank. He is 40 years of age and wants for his wife a woman, a helpmate, and one that will willingly perform the duties of a good housewife. She must care for his daughter as if she were her own. A lady with no children is preferred as he fears that trouble might arise where two sets of children are beneath the same roof. While in the city Thursday, Mr. Long went to the west side photographers and had his picture taken so that next week anyone interested may call and see his likeness.
